Loading the paper and ribbon is not quite as easy as the older Sony UPDR200 printers, but the DS40 does a decent job printing. Colors are truer than the UPDR200. The case is about 40% smaller than comparable Sony, Shinko or Mitsubishi printers, making it much easier to transport. Price point of the printer as well as the media kits make this unit an overall good buy. DNP's customer support and return/exchange policy is also quite good, sending replacement printers at no charge if the unit is broken under normal usage.
