Best Review: EVGA Z68 ATX DDR3 2133 Intel - LGA 1155 Motherboards 130-SB-E685-KR - The hardest task in building my own desktop was the research on EACH of the elements. The Motherboard was no exception, but "they" are right when "they" say: "Start with the Motherboard." You will find the other leading contenders for this item (ASUS and MSI) have a lot of serious "review" complaints on their comparable boards. Not this one. The EVGA 130 is a diamond in the rough.Compare the statistics and you will find that it has everything contained in the larger "FTW EVGA 160" ultimate gamer board with the exception of two things. The 160 is too big in size and has too many PCIe's for most of us. The 130 is still far more than I will need in the foreseeable future. So if you are an ultimate gamer looking for a board that will handle 2 full blown video cards, and will require space for an EATX (extended ATX) board, then you may want the 160. But not me. The 130 is plenty. CPU is i5-2500k. Cooler is Hyper 212 EVO. BE a FANATIC about the CPU cooler. I know from sad experience. DO go overboard. DO NOT use the stock cooler. ADD grease to the fan bearing before you install it. You are doing that for 2 (or more) years down the road because the fans come sadly under lubricated and that's about when they can fail. Get "Super Lube Grease Lubricants Wt:1/2 oz" from Amazon for $6.23 total cost. Read the other reviews and take note of the things they have learned. Especially "Farlin" has useful information. One other piece of good information (which I got from others) is to replace the Hyper 212 fan with a Scythe SY1225SL12LM-P Fan. I used the Hyper fan as a case fan and put the Scythe on the Hyper Cooler. The Scythe quietly moves a lot more cfm's than any other 120mm fan. At this moment, the CPU is operating at 35 degrees centigrade.I installed 16 gig of compatible Corsair memory and had NO problems. With all of the above, this board has been 100% perfect using Windows7 - 64 Professional.
